Your project could be multiplatform, you could utilise mobile devices such as phones or sat nav; or wireless and sensory technologies, such as mobile or sensor triggered projection, wearables, technology enhanced objects or sensory environments. You could prototype a new application, or research how existing platforms can be applied in new and exciting ways.
Technology can strengthen experience. Popular multiplatform tools and services such as Nike Sport Kit, Twitter, Spotify and wii, have recently encouraged all of us to approach familiar activities in new and positive ways. These tools and services were born from passionate people recognising a need and responding to a problem. But what makes them meaningful and ultimately successful? Is it their ability to engage communities? Is it the social interactions and experiences they facilitate? Is it the significance of the content and the interactions generated? Or is it all of those things?
Passion is important. Twitter began when a community of keen developers recognised that instant messaging in an open forum would produce a conversation they could all follow and thus speed up workflow. This was a simple development of an existing concept. Now available worldwide, Twitter has become one of the most significant tools on the Internet playing a vital role in PR, politics, protests, education, emergencies and more. So we want to know: what’s your passion? What needs do you or your audience have? We’re not looking for gimmicks or repetition of what’s already out there. We’re looking for inspiring, sustainable, future-facing, creative projects that capture the imagination. Have we captured yours?

What makes a good proposal?
Media Sandbox supports digital media projects from bright, ambitious people, which contain some level of technological or content innovation. It could be a game, a mobile application, or a website. It may have a TV or radio tie-up, but that will not be how it is distributed.
