As technologies converge and platforms proliferate, finding time and space to develop projects which capture the imagination becomes even more tricky. Media Sandbox carves out a space for research, supporting brilliant people to make time and take risks.

Networking creative talent from the South West with leading technology companies and content commissioners, Media Sandbox is a development programme enabling companies to research emerging possibilities in interactive, digital media, create new ideas and deliver innovation to the market.

We are offering seven £10,000 commissions to support research and development of innovative content, applications and experiences under two strands: open data and pervasive media.

Life is complicated, so we’re challenging you to come up with a brilliant idea, that could tackle a problem, provide a service or simply offer a transformative experience.

Media Sandbox  is originated and produced by iShed, part of Watershed, a cross art form organisation based in Bristol, UK. Media Sandbox is in association with Bristol City Council and Connecting Bristol's B-Open initiative and is a Creative Industries iNet programme, supported by South West Screen, ERDF and The South West Regional Development Agency.
